Melissa Gibson

Still Worth
Every Note...

"Melissa has that zest and charm of 70s heroines like Carole King and Helen Reddy, never losing site of her folk roots that challenge the singer-songwriter to go naked to the audience and not lie when the lyrics start passing from brain to strumming fingers. Add a fine, serious voice to that thoughtfulness and up comes a winner."

Bio

Gibson writes songs that feel lived-in and linger. She immersed herself in the Nashville music scene and released four albums between 1999 and 2006 — Lighthouse Point, Welcome To Stay, Under Their Influence, and In Your Corner. Influenced by Marc Cohn, Patty Griffin and Carol King, her music blends Americana, country, and folk with a thoughtful, emotive voice. After stepping back for a time, Melissa is now reconnecting with her songs and sharing them in new ways.

Press

“Her resounding sense of self allows her to tear her heart out on much of the album, generating thoughts and memories her listeners may have thought long forgotten."

Nikki Tranter, - PopMatters

“Gibson is a mature, modest and confident artist who doesn't need to push her talent up your nose to be heard and recognized. A Quiet Victory."

Stein Haukland - INK 19

“A mix of emotions, in the traditional folk/rock vein that isn't played often enough lately."
